While recent years have brought improvement, health care remains a critical challenge for all Americans, and Latinos in particular. The Latino community endures continuing barriers to health care enrollment, and we face exorbitant gaps in private coverage, spurring reliance on public programs.
That’s why we at Hispanic Federation have striven to work with government health partners to support culturally-relevant, linguistically competent public health programs – across both physical and mental health. In the attached chapter, we outline a vision of public health that approaches the real threats to Hispanic health.
