The Society of the Educational Arts, Inc. (SEA), was founded on October 16, 1985, and incorporated on October 26, 1993. For the past 37 years, our mission has been to use arts and cultural programming to meet our overarching goal: the empowerment and educational advancement of our Latinx/Hispanic youth immigrant community. Our home-base theater, Teatro SEA, (NYC’s & Nation’s Only Latinx Children’s Theater), multidisciplinary arts instruction programs, art & cultural festivals/events, online educational programming, and Theater Books, all intend to raise self-esteem, strengthen cultural identity and provide educational advancement, especially for our community of Latinx children and youth.
