NYDIS is a 501(c)(3) faith-based federation of service providers and charitable organizations who work in partnership to provide disaster readiness, response, and recovery services to New York City.
Our mission is to inspire, connect and provide resources for New York City faith communities serving in disaster to create an urban environment of social justice for all.
Our programs focus on all phases of the disaster life-cycle. NYDIS and our partners network with all houses of worship, religious schools, and faith-based social services agencies in New York City. In cooperation with our member organizations, member congregations, and partners, we offer services from mitigation education to preparedness training, to response and recovery initiatives. Through these programs, NYDIS strengthens the resilience and capacity of faith-based agencies providing disaster services and serves NYC’s most vulnerable communities. NYDIS’ Membership is open to all faith-based organizations.
