Lin-Manuel Miranda to Chair HF’s Annual Gala

HF’s annual gala isn’t just a great party; it also helps raise millions of dollars to support our essential work and that of our network of 110 nonprofit organizations. Once again this year, we are happy that the incomparable Lin-Manuel Miranda will chair the event, which takes place on April 11th at the American Museum of Natural History. We hope you’ll join us. Each year, Hispanic Federation gathers with Latino leaders from across New York City and the nation to celebrate. We celebrate our work and our accomplishments. We also celebrate the tireless efforts of our staff and network of Latino community-based organizations. Our annual gala each spring isn’t just fun, it’s an opportunity to make public what we do every day: support our families and communities, siempre.

This year, we are thrilled to have the incomparable actor, composer, lyricist and writer Lin-Manuel Miranda serve again as our Gala Chair for our benefit event at the American Museum of Natural History on April 11th. We are also ecstatic to honor music legend and icon Marc Anthony, world-renowned philanthropist George Soros, and one of our nation’s leading community health centers, HF member agency Urban Health Plan.

The truth is that our gala isn’t just an important day on New York’s social calendar. It’s one of the most effective ways to support our work in Latino communities across the United States and Puerto Rico. What does that mean? Well, in 2018, thanks to your support, our pioneering advocacy and civic engagement efforts resulted in the registration of tens of thousands of Latinos who made their voices heard in the midterm elections. Our groundbreaking community investment programs continue to help our network of nonprofits build self-sustaining communities that are effecting change in their neighborhoods. And through our disaster-relief efforts we see homes rebuilt, businesses re-opening, families being fed and a sense of community that continues to lift up the island as it struggles for normalcy.

In 2019, we know we have a full agenda of community building and strengthening work and we can only accomplish that because of our supporters. Dollars received through our annual gala will allow us to protect, serve and uplift tens of thousands of more children and families, and lead the way in building stronger institutions and communities.
