How do we improve Latino educational performance in elementary school? What are the challenges facing Latino adolescents in middle and high school? How do we create programs that not only get young Latinos into college classrooms but also help them graduate? These are some of the critical questions facing our communities and they are among the many topics that will inform the 2017 Hispanic Federation Hispanic Education Summit. The summit will take place at the CUNY Graduate Center on March 20th and will include the participation of leading educators and education experts.

“The last summit we held was a great success and it gave us a roadmap for practical and impactful education reforms that we can promote right now,” said HF President José Calderón. “This year’s event will build on that experience and focus on some of the successful models of educational achievement that are out there and how we can expand and replicate them. We do a great deal of important work at Hispanic Federation but in the long run the success of our work really depends on whether we can make sure our kids are getting a quality education. The summit is critical in identifying what works, what doesn’t and how to make real change in the classroom.
