NEW YORK—Hispanic Federation’s (HF) Board of Directors today announced that Marcos Torres will begin serving as the new chair of the organization’s board. Marcos is the managing director and head of U.S. communications, media and entertainment at RBC Capital Markets. He was elected as HF’s board chair on November 9, 2022, and officially assumed the role on June 29, 2023. Prior to being elected as chair, Marcos served on the board’s executive committee as treasurer since 2017.

As chair, Marcos will be responsible for leading the board, strengthening and creating new private, public partnerships, and collaborating with Hispanic Federation leadership to develop programs that empower Latinos.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work more closely with Marcos in his new role as board chair. He has been an integral part of our organization, serving on our board for more than six years and fostering public, private, and nonprofit partnerships that have enabled us to serve countless Latinos across the country,” said Hispanic Federation President and CEO Frankie Miranda. “Moreover, his life story provides a unique perspective to the work we do, and he is a great role model for the people we serve. I’m confident that Marcos’ decades of leadership experience will help strengthen our partnerships and forge new ones all while helping Hispanic Federation expand its programming and impact. I am also very grateful our outgoing chair, Manuel Chinea, who has served with our organization for more than six years and taken us to new heights especially during the most challenging years in recent history.”

“Thank you to the Hispanic Federation Board of Directors for entrusting me with this role. Hispanic Federation has always centered itself around community and meeting Latinos where they are to improve their lives. I’m proud to have been part of this work for the past six years, and I look forward to working with the board and all members of Hispanic Federation to continue empowering Latinos across the United States and Puerto Rico,” said Marcos Torres.

Outgoing chair Manuel Chinea will remain on Hispanic Federation’s Board of Directors and serve as Treasurer.
