The New York Times Communities Fund continues the legacy of “The Neediest Cases Fund” by supporting local, national and global nonprofits that provide direct support to under-resourced and over-burdened people.

NEW YORK – Today, The New York Times Communities Fund – formerly known as The Neediest Cases Fund - announced that Hispanic Federation (HF), the nation’s premier Latino nonprofit membership organization, will be featured in this year’s annual campaign. Hispanic Federation joins CAMFED, Catholic Charities of Archdiocese of New York, Children’s Aid, Feeding America, First Book, International Rescue Committee, OneGoal, Per Scholas, and UJA-Federation of New York in this recognition. Last year, Hispanic Federation became a first-time beneficiary of the New York Times Neediest Cases Fund, a prestigious campaign featuring the nation’s highest performing charities.

For 112 years, The New York Times Communities Fund has encouraged readers to help people who are under-resourced and over-burdened and has coordinated a holiday season giving campaign as a direct way to do just that. To date, The Fund has raised over $330 million for nonprofit organizations that have helped countless individuals improve their circumstances and lead more enriching lives.

"Hispanic Federation is honored to be featured as a New York Times Communities Fund beneficiary this year. We are extremely fortunate to be one of the recipient organizations selected and join an esteemed group of fellow advocates committed to developing long-lasting solutions to real world problems. The Latino community remains underserved, and the organizations that empower them remain underfunded. This is why partnerships such as this one are so crucial to uplifting the Latino community and addressing their needs. This fund not only directs much needed resources to our work but partnering with the New York Times allows us to reach a vast audience and shine a bright light on our community and the transformative work we’re leading with our partners. With the generous support of the fund, we’ll keep pressing forward in our mission of supporting and advancing positive change in the lives of Latino families and individuals,” said Hispanic Federation President and CEO Frankie Miranda.
