As an organization founded to strengthen Latino nonprofits, Hispanic Federation understands the importance of a quality and committed Board of Directors. Boards of Directors are vital to securing funds, providing strategic guidance, and navigating the inevitable difficulties that nonprofits confront.

This is why Hispanic Federation’s “Board Dating” isn’t just one of our favorite events, it’s also one of our most important. In the style of speed dating, HF member agencies are given an opportunity to foster connections with business professionals to lay the foundation for the acquisition of new Board Members. Nearly 100 people were in attendance two weeks ago, eager to meet and connect with each other in the hopes of finding a perfect match.

“Board Dating is a fun way for us to address a crucial need for our member agencies,” said José Calderón, President of the Hispanic Federation. “Boards of Directors serve as our organizations’ fiercest advocates in their sectors, and their judgment and foresight provide critical guidance. We’re thrilled to be able to provide this opportunity.”

Among the collaborating partners for the event were Hispanic Federation’s Latina Philanthropy Council, the Latino Networks Coalition, PROSPANICA, and the CHCI Alumni Association – NY Chapter.
