NYC Mayoral Candidates Forum On Latino Issues

With one out of every four New Yorkers being Latino, the next mayor will have to address issues of critical importance to our growing community.  Together, Hostos Community College, the Hispanic Federation, El Diario/La Prensa and Telemundo NY will host a forum for the candidates to respond to questions on education, health, environmental justice, disconnected youth, jobs, immigrant services, support for non-profits, Latino representation in City Hall and other pressing concerns for 2.3 million Hispanic New Yorkers. Over 600 attendees are expected to attend.

Certain youth who were brought to the United States as young children may be eligible for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), which is relief from removal from the country (deportation), and for employment authorization (work permits). Youth interested in applying for DACA can receive free legal advice and assistance with their DACA application from trained pro bono attorneys at our upcoming application assistance workshop in New York City.
