Certain youth who were brought to the United States as young children may be eligible for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), which is relief from removal from the country (deportation), and for employment authorization (work permits). Youth interested in applying for DACA can receive free legal advice and assistance with their DACA application from trained pro bono attorneys at our upcoming application assistance workshop in New York City. In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, the Federation's annual "Un Milagro de Navidad / A Christmas Miracle" Toy Drive has been given new meaning. Thousands of children have been deeply affected by the storm. Some have lost their homes, and many have parents who are out of work. HF is working hard to ensure that these kids receive the gift of a toy or book during the holiday season. We are grateful and proud of our pioneering and long-standing partnership with Goya Foods, who funds this initiative. The reach and impact of our toy drive would not be possible without their support. We are also very pleased to announce that Hess Corporation is supporting our efforts this year with a grant and toy trucks.
