Chair of the Board

Cristina SchwarzA passionate leader in the Hispanic marketplace, with over two decades of experience and commitment in television, radio and advertising agency, Cristina Schwarz is a media consultant that runs her own business, CSLR, Ltd. She carried out projects for several international media companies and is supporting efforts on multiple projects both in the United States and South America. In addition, Cristina is expanding her knowledge of other countries and their cultures by conducting extensive travel itineraries across the globe.

Her Hispanic market hands-on include: VP/Government and Community Relations, Univision Communications, Inc.; VP/General Manager for three TV stations in New York with Univision Television Group. Prior to those positions, she led several sales teams for Univision and Telemundo networks. On the advertising agency side, she worked for the Bravo Group and started her professional career with Caballero Spanish Radio Network.

Ms. Schwarz has focused her efforts in reaching out to the four million+ Hispanics residing in New York, New Jersey, and Fairfield County, CT. She maintains her commitment by actively participating in several non-profit organizations such as the Executive Committee and Board of The Hispanic Federation, and is a member of NYC Mayor Bloomberg's Latin Media and Entertainment Commission.

Ms. Schwarz has led teams to numerous prestigious awards including: EMMY, AWRT's Gracie, RTNDA's Edward R. Murrow, NJBA, AP and local grass-roots community organizations. On a personal level she is privileged to be a recipient of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.

A native of Santiago, Chile, Ms. Schwarz was raised in various countries of South and Central America, among them Guatemala and Colombia. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Management from New York University, School of Business. She resides in New Jersey with her family.

Lillian RodriguezLillian Rodríguez López serves as President of the Hispanic Federation, a non-profit membership organization serving close to 100 Latino health and human service agencies in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania.  Lillian first joined the Federation in 1996 as Vice President. Under her leadership, the Federation has dramatically increased its organizational capacity to serve an ever increasing network of member agencies and respond to the Latino community’s local and national needs.

Prior to joining the Hispanic Federation, Ms. Rodríguez López was employed at the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation (HHC), a public benefit corporation which oversees New York City’s public health care system, in several capacities including Executive Assistant to the Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Ms. Rodríguez López currently is Chair of the National Hispanic Leadership Agenda, New Yorkers for Smaller Classes and serves as a member of the Citizen’s Union, the Wells-Fargo-Wachovia Bank Community Board, Nielsen Company Latino Advisory Board and the Manhattan Borough President Community Board Reform Committee.  In 2008, she was selected as one of the 15 Most Influential Latinos in the country by People En Español.  She was also elected as the 2007 Coors Hispanic Leader of the Year.

Lillian received her B.A. in Communications from Fordham University and completed the Executive Program at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University under the 2003 National Hispana Leadership Institute.
