Hispanic Federation Applauds President Obama's Support of Same-Sex Marriage

New York, NY May 9, 2012 – The Hispanic Federation, a service-oriented membership organization that works with over 90 Latino health and human services agencies to promote the social, political and economic well-being of the Latino community, applauded President Barack Obama’s statement that “same-sex couples should be able to get married.”  

“We commend President Obama for taking a firm stand in support of marriage equality,” said Jose Calderon, President of the Hispanic Federation. “For more than 20 years, the Hispanic Federation has been fighting for the civil rights of all Latinos and we're proud that the President has made it clear that every American regardless of race, gender or sexual preference is entitled to freedom, justice and equality before the law."
