Board Dating was a Smashing Success! Passion and excitement ran high at the Hispanic Federation's (HF) first ever “Board Dating” event last night. HF played matchmaker for over 90 Latino corporate professionals who were looking for a “first love” volunteer experience with HF nonprofits.
A “speed dating” layout gave potential volunteers and nonprofit executives two minutes to introduce themselves. Corporate professionals discussed their community interests and the talents and resources they could bring to nonprofit boards. HF agencies promoted their missions and highlighted the focus and importance of their work.
Early reports of potential match-ups were great! Paul Quintero from Accion USA stated that he was able to identify 18 potential candidates “across a whole range of skill sets that he needed.” Others were amazed that they were able to see 40 potential board recruits in just 2 hours, proof that “Board Dating” is a great way to make matches made in heaven.

(INTAR), MERCY Center, Northern Manhattan Coalition for Immigrant Rights, Nos Quedamos, Inc. , Society of the Educational Arts, Inc., St. Ann's Corner of Harm Reduction, Violence Intervention Program, and Westchester Hispanic Coalition.
Corporate professionals included representatives from:
American Express, Bank of America, Barton, Barton & Plotkin, LLP, Citi, Deloitte, JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, The Bank of NY Mellon Corporation, The New York Times, and Thomson Reuters.
