During this session, Hispanic Federation (HF) President and CEO, Frankie Miranda, kicks off the summit with opening remarks. The HF team also presents Overcoming COVID-19: Economic Barriers for Latino Communities, a white paper developed in consultation with New America, that uses the collective wisdom of Latino civic leaders, business owners, nonprofits, and individuals. HF lays out a series of specific policies that can help our communities recover. These are proposals that emerged from the people and institutions that know our communities best. Implementing these policies will require a commitment by our political leaders and our own steady insistence that ours is a community worth fighting for; that rebuilding our community is the surest way to rebuild the nation.
