Hispanic Federation is proud to join the National Trust for Historic Preservation and over 850 organizations in support of the passage of the Great American Outdoors Act (S. 3422) introduced by Senator Gardner (R-CO), Senator Manchin (D-WV), Senator Daines (R-MT), and Senator Warner (D-VA). If enacted, the legislation would establish a National Parks and Public Land
Legacy Restoration Fund, protect historic assets and fully fund the Land and Water Conservation Fund, which saves historic, cultural, and natural landscapes for the benefit of all Americans.

Hispanic Federation joins almost 160 national and state or local organizations in supporting the Improving Social Determinants of Health Act of 2020 (H.R. 6561), introduced by Rep. Nanette Diaz Barragán (CA-44). If enacted, the bill would create a program at the Center for Disease Control to focus on the Social Determinants of Health. It would include grants to states for a public health approach to SDOH.

The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights is joined by Hispanic Federation and 60 other organizations in urging Congress to take immediate and comprehensive action to ensure equal educational opportunity during the COVID-19 public health crisis and beyond. Long term closures of early childhood settings, K12 schools, and college campuses, necessary to protect the safety and health of communities, have significantly exacerbated longstanding inequities in our educational system. Leadership and action from Congress can, and must, minimize the harm to marginalized students as long as COVID-19 continues to threaten the public health.

Hispanic Federation joined MASA Group and 283 national, state, and local organizations in urging the administration direct the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to restore access to benefits under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Access to COVID-19 testing and treatment for DACA recipients and their U.S. citizen children is absolutely critical during this pandemic.

Hispanic Federation joined the Youth Development Institute of Puerto Rico and numerous organizations in urging Congress for the next COVID-19 legislative relief include language granting Puerto Rico access to the resources for a Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) options. The Families First Coronavirus Response Act of 2020 (Families First) did not provide Puerto Rico with access to the resources provided to the States and other territories to implement the P-EBT option.
